MARY tells the story of a damaged, fiercely strong woman
who has distanced herself from society and doesn't trust anyone...
until a near-death experience challenges her to question her views.
We watch her slowly — and sometimes reluctantly — discover that
true strength and peace are found not in suspicion and isolation, but in community,
as she releases her fears in favor of accepting, and giving, love again...
and becomes even stronger for making that choice.
The woman's name is Mary Magdalene.
Although the story is set in Biblical times, Mary is not an icon —
She is Everyperson, dealing with the same internal struggles we all face today:
being accepted by others and, ultimately, accepting ourselves.
The workshop was made possible by the generous support of
The McKenzie Artist and Animal Fund
and the donations of
William Lyons
Angie & Dik Pittman
Wayne LaRue Smith
and
Jason Coll
Delta Donohue
and other friends of the workshop!
